I spent the morning working on chapters 10-14 of Understanding Human Communication. Then I waited for Dr. Terry Flynn, my good friend and the founder of the Master of Communications Management program at McMaster University, in which I teach a course on communications theory.
He arrived and we drove down to Syracuse, under a golden sun and a cloudless chalky blue sky. It was a great four-hour drive. Even though we are both professors, we don’t get the chance to discuss and debate ideas. Life at the uni can be so busy.
We had dinner at a pork bbq house called Dinosaur BBQ, which is apparently quite a famous destination in Syracuse. I had pulled pork and baked beans on rice. It was tasty.
When we got to our hotel, the Sheraton, from whence I write now. Tomorrow will be a big day – my first visit to the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication.
Good night!
