Life-Love 66: Waking up refreshed

If you suffer from insomnia, the way I do, you know what it’s like to spend a lot of time exhausted. You’ve tried it all – going to bed at a set time, having some warm milk before turning in, crosswords before bed, perhaps even a night cap. Sleep eludes you, however, and you read late into the night, until the dark tendrils of restful night take you to the land of your dreams. Sometimes, however, you’ve had a good day – accomplished what you’ve wished for, maintained pleasant relations with those around you not ruffling any feathers, and you easily fall asleep early. You wake up in the morning and your muscles are relaxed. Your eyes are heavy and you feel a heavy calm around your shoulders and in your back. It’s a delicious feeling of relaxation that far too few of us enjoy regularly. Sleep should be heavy and delectable, not restless and clenched. Waking on these days is a pleasure, isn’t it?
