A great dinner party!

Last night I went to a dinner party hosted by an old friend and McMaster French Studies alumna Claudia Bustos in Hamilton. What a pleasant, elegant and casual night. I must say that it felt a little like a Mac reunion with another McMaster French Studies alumna, Sonya Ugarkovic and her partner, Rob in attendance.

We talked for hours about an incredible range of topics, exchanged stories of our travels, the qualities of Russian and Georgian films, the relative merits of Madame Bovary and Anna Karenina, and also an awful lot about how the teaching profession is changing, given that Sonya, Claudia and myself are all teachers. All of this around a scrumptious dinner that Claudia prepared and a fab Chilean wine. Then we sat in the lovely garden, through the twilight hour and sipped honey wine from Rosewood Estates vineyard in Beamsville while crunching sweet canolis.

Great conversation, a pleasant atmosphere,  and a chance to meet old friends and make new ones. Claudia – you throw a great dinner party!
